I’m Glad To Be Back
Well hello again!
I’m back after a long break. After I closed the shop I needed some time to regroup and figure some things out. I had a long list of things keeping me from blogging, but I hope to be back on a regular basis.
So when I took these pictures it began pouring rain outside. Yeah it’s July folks. Heatwave? Not so much in the good old town of Portland. Anyhoo, I decided our dark and moody bedroom would have to do. I think it worked OK in a pinch. Also, this outfit is just a t-shirt, jeans and a funny little hat, but I felt happy wearing it. I hope you like it.
I’m now selling my jewelry and vintage clothes at Sweet Jayne in Portland, and I’m helping out there too. I just love it there!

I may just have to start thrifting for clothes for them. Oh who am I kidding, I already do. He he he. Cats love clothes, but mainly just the clean ones they can sleep on. Oh yes, back to the blog.

Of Course I Buy Winter Caps In Mexico
So last time I was in Mexico I happened upon a little end of the year sale at one of the local boutiques. They had a huge $5 bin and a $2 bin. Well this lovely little hand knit cap was in the $2 bin. I saw it and knew the sunny yellow knit would be perfect for me, but it was really hard to by cold weather clothing when it was 90 degrees outside. Never the less I purchased it and I wear it often. Yeah for deals!

Time To Cowboy Up
Do you like cowboy boots? Well I sure do. I have had hundreds of pairs over the years and I’m just recently figuring out that the mens styles are the most comfortable for me. Why? You ask. Well turns it out I have flipper feet. Translation: double wides. Now I have known my width for quite sometime, and a dainty shoe will never be my friend, but I keep on trying to make it work. Oh, but these black boots have come to save the day. They are cute enough to wear with a dress. Tough enough to withstand the weather. Lastly, wide enough for me to wear thick warm socks to combat my tendency to freeze. Go Boots! On with the show.

I’ll Take The Boots And The Jacket
I believe I was given a gift for thrift. My body tells me when and where I should go to find a good deal. Lately I have had the need for leather jackets, but they are so expensive new. $400, $500, $600 and up I just can’t afford that kind of commitment. Luckily there is a little thrift store by my step dad’s house that has come to the rescue. I found this Sundance leather jacket there for $10.00, and I don’t think it has ever been worn. Yeah! More deals to come.

And A New Year Begins
Hello again friends, I have been on hiatus for a while to enjoy the holiday season, but I’m back and ready to thrift, create and blog.
The weather has been quite a mix of different levels of bad so far this year. So this morning’s weather proved to be difficult for a photo shoot, but I managed to avoid the pouring rain by setting up under the back porch. The kittens were even outside helping me or perhaps they were just running around trying to trip me. Oh well, back to the matter at hand: fashion.

Gift Of Giftwrap
I have donated 100 gift-wrap packs to the Crafty Wonderland gift bags, and I have 200 packs to give as gift with purchase for Crafty as well. These gift-wrap packs are perfect for wrapping jewelry or other small gifts. I have custom made these kits to be an easy DIY project for you to do at home.
Here are the instructions:
First put your gift into the paper bag.
Fold the bag in half.
Take the strip of blue floral paper and tape it around the middle. Be sure to tape it on the back side of the bag.
Take the copper paper circle and place a tape round on the back.
Stick the paper circle on the blue paper as a seal on the back of the gift.
Now to make the gift tag.
Take the blue ribbon and fold it in half and tape it to the back of the large blue paper circle.
Take the blue triangle paper clip and slide it onto the blue circle and attach it to the top of the paper bag.
Now you can write a name and a note on the tag.
Yeah your Done!
