New on Etsy

Well hello everyone. I am posting these lovelies on Etsy today. They are a Special classics and I wear my set all the time. They come in shiny or matte silver finishes. I love how they add a bit of edge to any outfit, but are super light weight. We shot these photos for my Special look book on a sunny evening at the beach. I just adore how they came out!

Print on Print

Good Monday to you!

I wore this lovely print on print outfit on Friday to go pick up my bestie in Venice Beach. She flew in for a photo shoot that day and Steve and I  drove down to take her home with us. It was my first time down there. We did some shopping at all the cute stores. Swung by Deus Ex Machina’s shop for coffee. We ate dinner at a fancy little pizza place. Then we drove back to Santa B for a very rainy weekend. We also spent Sunday at Jalama Beach. Rain, Surf and burgers were had.

More tomorrow.

Clueless Style

I’m channeling Cher and her preppy 90’s style. I must admit it goes great with my love for equestrian style too.

Short and sweet post today, because I’m off to an appointment. I’m being commissioned to make the accessories for an ad campaign. I’m so excited!

Mad For Plaid And The 90’s

Aren’t you plaid to see me?

OK, sorry bad joke. As you may already know I love all things plaid. Since I stole my first 2xl flannel shirt from my dad I knew I was hooked. It’s a classic print reborn every season. You can go preppy, grungy or just cozy, but one things for sure your gonna look great!

I just watched Clueless over the weekend, and it brought back so many awesome memories from the early 90’s and when my love for plaid began. I remember wearing plaid skirts, knee highs and mary janes. I also had a giggle at the classic lines from the movie, and I must listen to “Rolling With The Homies” soon.

I also love the whole grunge resurgence happening. Oversized flannels, overalls and dark lips. I definitely don’t listen to much Nirvana these days, but I may just have to sneak some into my playlist.

The 90’s is also when I first started thrifting. Grunge was my gateway drug. There used to be this amazing store in Portland called The Big Bang Annex. You had to go up a long staircase on a downtown side street and at the top was Heaven. A stairway to Heaven if you will. It was a huge store filled with vintage goodies. Rooms and rooms. Racks and racks. All filled with glorious vintage clothes. I purchased one of my all time favorite sweaters there. A 70’s mauve, striped and hooded number. I wore it all the time with very holey Levis and classic styled Pumas. Oh 90’s and your laid back fashion. I miss you. I am going to channel some 90’s inspiration this week. So get ready to get in the fashion mosh pit.

P.S. I was once kicked in the head in the mosh pit at a Nirvana concert. Just saying. I’m legit.

Safari Week Wardrobe Wednesday

Here’s a few outfits to end Safari Week.

I sometimes have a hard time taking photos of what I’m wearing. I get going with the day and forget to document what I’ve worn.

I did happen to catch a couple of shots of this leopard outfit that I wore on a date night with the Steve, and this nude ensemble.

I hope to get more shots this week. I also want to share about going to The Rose Bowl Swap Meet on Sunday. TBC!

Xpert Files: Thrifting Neutral Shoes

Thrifting Neutral Shoes

Every girl needs a bevy of neutral shoes to choose from. And it just so happens they go great with Safari Week style. I even consider animal prints as neutrals. I know that may come as a shock, but they are comprised of neutral colors, and go great with so many outfits. Add more animal print to your life!

All these shoes were purchased secondhand. I love new, used and vintage finds. This is a quick look at some of my collection.

Safari Week

OK everyone Safari week begins now.

Perhaps this will be like my very own Shark Week. Without awesome life or death stories, amazing footage, or actual useful information. Perhaps only in name we shall be similar. HMMMM. Oh well. The show must go on.

I have always been inspired by safari style. The casual chic looks created with a neutral palette. So this week I’m going to put my own spin on some safari looks. Go with me on a mental safari. A safari where we stay in fancy tents and don’t actually get dirty. Where we can play dress up and wear heels. Where we don clothing with many pockets and nothing to put in them. Perhaps we won’t see any wild animals or travel across the plains in a Land Rover, but we will see 3 domesticated cats who are a handful.

This will be my first installment. Stay tuned for more outfits next week.

Get Your Hat On

Super Tuesday to you!

After yesterday’s post with all my new hats on parade. It got me thinking about hats of my fashion past. I mean it’s Fall and the beginning of hat season. So why not do a flashback of all the glorious hats previously featured. It helps me keep tabs on hats I love and want to wear again. Truth be told when it gets cold I wear hats almost everyday, but I’m not always good at documenting them. Perhaps this year will be different.

Tell me do you love hats too? What is your favorite kind to wear?

The Thrifting Goods

OK Friends here they are.

Photos of all the goodies I found on my after Halloween thrifting trip. It was an awesome thrill ride of a day I tell you. Racks and racks of clothes all marked $2, and all shoes marked half price. My heart sang a sweet little tune as I shopped the day away. Dresses galore! Hats for days! Jackets a plenty! Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!

I hope you enjoy my finds.
