I caught a glimpse of myself in the store’s window today, and thought wow, I sure do look a lot like Gandolf The Grey. Looking like a fantasy wizard is the new hot trend I’m starting. Ha!

Anyhoo, The weather was and is sunny. It really happened my friends. We had a great weekend hanging with friends, family, and even a little much needed house and yard work was accomplished. There is something about the sun and its energizing effects that makes me get stuff done. Vitamin D baby.

So today happens to be rainy and cold, but tomorrow promises sun. Yes, Sun I tell you! I have heard this proclamation from many many people today so it must be true.

This is my second attempt at pose.com. I have a really hard time taking good photos of myself. I guess this is what you get. I’m nice and layered to barrier myself from the wet and chill, and wearing my new black, stretchy, riding pants. They fit like a glove, and are very comfy. I don’t think the photos really show how cute they are or the fun details, but oh well.

I wish you all the best weekend ever and sun to spare.

So my friend Sara from Dahlstyle, told me I need to get on pose.com, and today I did it. I have been trying to be a good blogger and business promoter lately, and being on pose is part of the package. Basically, you take a photo of yourself in your daily outfit so others can be inspired by your look and vice versa. The hard part about taking daily outfit posts is taking photos of yourself. A: I have to set up my tripod and self time the photos. B: Upload and size photos. C: Get up early enough to take the photos before I start my day. D: Blog.

So my friends I shall try my best to show you how I style my daily looks incorporating my Special Portland Jewels.

When:  4/26 Thursday 6-9pm.

We are having a night that celebrates our 1st year and some fellow Businesses that have helped us along the way. We will be having special discounts  and giving out a few gift baskets via raffle, wine and light appetizers. We will also have swag bags for the first 25 guests to arrive (Party starts at 6pm)*

Sara Dahl of Dahlstyle will be joining us for the evening – explaining just what a “wardrobe stylist” is and offering some “quick tips”.  Sara has a bi-weekly show on the morning show “Good Day Oregon”.

Alyson Clair of Clair Vintage Inspired will be there talking about her line we carry in the shop. Unique to Portland Clair Vintage makes wearable/flattering dresses and the VERY popular no muffin top skirt. We are lucky to carry Clair Vintage in the shop from past seasons so you can buy it new but with a discount.

And Lastly Heather Houser of Special Portland Jewelry will be creating a line of Jewelry for this event and we will help you find that perfect statement piece that will complete any basic outfit and make it pop. Heather sells her Jewelry in upscale boutiques around Portland and we are so lucky to have her eye for design in weekly merchandising in the store. Come see her beautiful new collection, try it on and get help from some style experts as to what piece looks great on you.

Our Birthday party will not be the same without all of our fun customers and consignors who have helped us grow over this year.

It was a fun low key shoot. The photos turned out great, and I can’t wait to work together again.

They are a lovely full service hair salon located in the heart of the Pearl District.

We first met on a photo shoot for Studio Luxe’s website. I styled all the jewelry for the shoot and was asked to model. Modeling is not my usual gig, and I had to jump out of the makeup chair every few minutes to make sure all the models had the right clothes and jewelry on: multitasking!

We worked with Photographer Tamara Young, of Consign Couture fame, styles from her shop, Branch and Birdie, Shop Adorn, Special Portland, local makeup artists, including Chantel Heister who did my look, and of course Studio Luxe who did amazing hair designs. A special shout out to Karen Miles Daxenbichler for the beautiful hair and love.

Well we made such a great team I had to meet with Studio Luxe’s owner Candice, and now I sell my designs at the salon. Im so excited! We created a vintage industrial display for just my pieces and it turned out great! Please pop by to check them out and get a trim or a blow out while your at it.
